Carpet Underlayment Soundproofing
Carpet underlayment materials are intended to be installed with
the foam down against the deck or floor, and the vinyl barriĀer towards the
carpet. Material that is installed upside down will not provide as much quieting
as a properly installed soundproofing.
Our standard line of installation adhesives may be used on the
foam side only, if bonding is called for. More often, these materials are
installed similar to a standard pad which is held in place by the carpet.
If a situation arises that calls for the vinyl to be bonded to the carpet,
special vinyl adhesive must be used, and you should check with the carpet or
adhesive manufacture for product compatibility.
Acoustic Underlayment soundproofing is an important part of a boat's sound reduction package as well as a home or office.
This easy to install product can be used at any point in the insulation process. C-U is effective as a primary treatment for living areas of the boat, such as
boat/yacht salons or staterooms where flooring is the dominant source of noise in situations where it is difficult to install proper boat engine room soundproofing.
Under-layment products consist of a foam layer supporting an acoustic
mass loaded vinyl barrier. The foam layer acts to decouple the mass, layer from the floor vibrations, creating an effective barrier against noise radiating from the floor due to structure borne or airborne sources of noise excitation. Under-layment is also very effective as part of a full insulation package. In cases where greater attenuation levels are required, this insulation will improve upon the engine room insulation system. Not only will the insulation add a second decoupled mass, but it will also seal areas such as hatches where leakage can take place.
This product can also be used in a household application, such as sound reduction emanating from a basement or a level above. Product is 4-1/2' wide We offer a product for areas that have the potential of getting wet. (Closed Cell Foam) Ideal for pool pump enclosures. UL 94 HF-1
