Rockwool is made of slag, which is a recycled steel product, and rock,
a trap rock mined in Texas...those are the only raw materials in rockwool
insulation.
we use "coke" which is a recycled material from coal. it is used to
make the heat hotter in the manufacturing process, in order to save energy...rockwool
is the safest insulation on the market today...it also has one of the best
thermal insulating properties as well as a superior sound control while not
supporting mold or mildew. all while not having to add any chemicals...many
other insulation products on the market today are either all chemical, foams, or
have chemicals added to them to keep them fire retardant, cellulose...

E.2.3 Coefficient of absorption. All materials absorb some sound, and the
percentage of sound is measured (in laboratory tests) as a coefficient of
absorption. Coefficients of absorption range in value from close to 0 (no
absorption) to nearly 1.0 (100 % efficient); these coefficients vary as a
function of frequency. Materials that are most efficient at absorbing sound
include soft porous "fuzzy» materials such as glass fiber, mineral wool fiber,
carpet, curtains, acoustic tile, and other specialty materials. Materials that
depend on their porosity to absorb sound should not be painted which will clog
their pores, and thus degrade their acoustical performance.
We now offer alternate States that we deliver MLV soundproofing from, Click on the State
