The 1000 offers exceptional pulling power for its size. It features low power consumption, high speed retrieval and it is lightweight (nearly 45% lighter than any other system with equivalent maximum work load). The Quick Genius 1000 Windlass epicyclical gearbox provides 40% greater efficiency than comparable windlasses. It is a complete on deck windlass and is easy to install with just four simple fasteners. Everything needed for installation, except the wire, is included in the box (up/down toggle switch, dual direction solenoid, circuit breaker, clutch handle, stainless steel mounting hardware and gasket. Use H-T Chain. Free Fall is the continuances of the Genius models, and this on deck windlasses are equipped with all the advantages of such models from the fast and easy on-deck installation to the maximum efficiency provided by the epicyclical gearbox. Apart from this highly appreciated quality, the new Genius models FF further offers an important characteristic, the automatic Free-Fall of chain. The Free-Fall technology applied to the Genius windlass allows free running of chain through the gypsy when lowering the anchor; simply by depressing the down control button the windlass will release its clutch and the gypsy will freewheel. To stop the Free-Fall depress the up control button on the windlass; the clutch will engage stopping the gypsy and allowing retrieval of the chain.
The Free-Fall function can be bypassed to facilitate power-controlled release.
