Ships Bell
Ships Fog Bell According to both Inland and International Rules, all boats must carry some means of producing an efficient sound signal. If your boat is 12 meters (39'4") or longer, a power whistle, power horn or ships bell must be carried. Each bell must have a mouth at least 200 mm (7-7/8") in diameter. If less than 12 meters (39'4"), your sound signal should be capable of a four to six second blast audible for one half mile. The navigation rules require boat operators to sound fog signals and maneuvering signals whenever necessary.
